Islamic Society of Annapolis (ISA) is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt non-profit Islamic organization. Islamic Society of Annapolis manages and operates mosques at two locations:

1. Annapolis:

2. Gambrills: This location is also known as Makkah Learning Center (MLC), an educational project of Islamic Society of Annapolis. The purpose of Makkah Learning Center (MLC) is to establish a high school for Muslim Boys and Girls Insha Allah.

Our Vision

Islamic Society of Annapolis will be a model community for humanity by implementing what Allah commanded in The Noble Qur'an:
“Ye are the best of peoples, evolved for mankind, enjoining what is right, forbidding what is wrong, and believing in Allah. If only the People of the Book had faith it were best for them; among them are some who have faith, but most of them are perverted transgressors”. (Sura Al-Imran 2:110)

Our Mission

1. Practice the total submission to Allah, and believe in, an act upon the message of the Prophet Mohammed (peace be upon him).
2. Teach the Qur'an and Sunnah to both Muslims and non-Muslims as it is the best method to empower humanity and establish justice and dignity human looks for.
3. Apply the Qur'an and Sunnah in our daily lives for the betterment of our society both Muslim and non-Muslim.
4. Create positive bond with non-Muslims with an intention to establish a foundation for civil activities (feeding the hungry, shelter the homeless, alleviate hardships etc.)
5. Improve the social, behavioral and economic conditions of the Muslim Society.
6. Organize and carry out Islamic Social activities for the betterment of society.
7. Develop educational, social, cultural programs that are intended to make everyone in community feel at home at ISA.
8. Propagate within the community virtues related to being good citizens for their community, country and world and avoid wasting Allah's resources.
   "But do not waste: Verily, He does not love the wasteful!" (Sura Al-Araf 9:31)
9. Lead the community to have good environmentally conscience behavior.
   "Do not destroy the earth after it has been so well ordered: this is for your own good if you would but believe." (Sura Al-Araf 9:85)
10. Establish relations and cooperation with other Muslim and non-Muslim organizations to further meet community empowerment goals.
11. Further Muslim endeavors and involvement in science, sports, civic activities and public service

  • Pay off community debt
  • Restructure the Annapolis Muslim Community
  • Revamp/Improve the Sunday schools at ISA
  • Reinstate the interfaith program
  • Establish a series of Islamic lectures
  • Establish Adult evening classes for Islamic Fiqh, Hadith and Qur'an
  • Build listing of members with skills that they can teach to others I.e. computer literacy, home repairs, knitting, crochet, sewing, etc.
  • Develop a brochure on the Islamic Society of Annapolis

• Long-term goals

  • Build a multi-purpose community building at the Gambrills site
  • Acquire a building for Annapolis
  • Build an Islamic High School at the Gambrills site
